I Are Nincompoop

So...today happened. First, lemme backtrack a bit. Yesterday was DLD and there was no school, so I decided "hey, I'll take the day off too." Yeah big mistake. Should'a used that time to apply the markups from my outside mentor Wayne. Instead I did that today, and then I got caught up trying to find and remove redundancies that I didn't actually get to editing chapter 6 like I had intended. I really haven't accomplished as much as I would've liked in the past couple days. Tomorrow I'm going to finish editing chapter 6 so I can send out 3, 4, 5, and 6 to Wayne and Mr. Reynolds for their feedback. Then I'll be able to start figuring out chapters 7 and 8.

I've decided that it would be in my best interest to also work on weekends to ensure I have enough time to do the work that needs to be done. This Saturday in particular, I am going to dedicate my time to finishing the cover. I just got a brand new microphone too (which is completely unrelated to the book technically), so I may even livestream it. I've also decided to illustrate a few scenes from the book. I've got one sketch so far that I'll be posting here. I'm not sure if I'm actually going to include them in the book, but if people want it I just might.

Gonna jump topics now. I'm trying to think of what to write in an authors notes section, but I'm not too sure. Maybe something along the lines of where the idea for this plot came and the inspiration for the characters. I'll have to think about it.

My hope is that if we run out of time during quarter four, my two advisers might be willing to continue helping me finish it up. I

I think I'll keep the schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Friday blog posts. I like the spacing. If I do decide to livestream I may make a minipost with the link, but we'll see.

So, I was having some fun repairing the boot sector of my computer so it would load Windows properly, and in the process I created a Windows recovery media on my flashdrive. It mostly had junk files so I didn't bother backing up anything. Then I realized it had my book on it...of course, this was after I had already cleared the drive to reformat. I did have a backup, but I've lost about four chapters and a lot of changes I made to the beginning...so, roughly thirty or so hours of work down the drain. I'm not happy, and this is a bit of a setback, but oh well. I only have my own idiocy to blame. Damn.

Writer's Block-Be-Gone

Finally got through the period of Writer's Block I encountered, and finished chapter 10. On to chapter 11 now. If I can keep a good pace, maybe I can have all of this finished in just two weeks. Wouldn't that be fantastic. I think, with the whole file transfer thing I've been receiving emails about, I might be able to transfer this blog to my personal gmail and continue from there under the same url. If that is the case, I may adjust the tab list a bit and remap the blog site so I can embed it into my actual website. I'll have to test that to make sure embedding will actually work, though. Spring Semester Update

Semester two of my freshman year has just begun. Honestly, I can't believe I've made it this far. It's been a lot of work and will only get harder, but I've really enjoyed it so far. Now, you're all here for the writing I imagine, so...I haven't progressed much since the last update. There's just not enough time. However, on the train I was able to write a new short story. It's loosely based on the Japanese Shinto religion and features a a human, a kitsune, a demon, and Amaterasu the sun goddess herself...in an unexplained wolf form. I think it's a little rushed and there are some parts I've been thinking about changing, so I may update it in the future, but we'll see. Also, bit of an update on the site itself.
